Compilation CD
since there will be a wiki page (i hope) of all the doom bands from the south, how about making a cd with all bands from past and presant, get some nice art work done for it and something written about the bands?
just an idea.
just an idea.
Re: Compilation CD
I was gonna do a homemade CDR for this gig... each band should have a track on it.
gonna have to chase everyone up on it...

chest/Andi I geuss you guys know the Ghast lads, know if they would put some tracks towards this?
Rare Tracks, and Bsides and covers would also be pretty cool? all local bands mind (I say local, as in south wales)

I'm sure they would yeah. Best bet is to ask them directly through myspace though.

Re: Compilation CD
well, since it's your idea you would seem the natural choice to bring this into a reality
Re: Compilation CD
Well most of the people i wanted to be on the thing post here, just wanted to know if anyone here was interested in submitting some stuff.
Re: Compilation CD
I've always thought it would be a good idea to take a really minimal recording set up (say live to 2 or 4 track)to different bands practices just to get some really live down and dirty recordings and then mix them all together on a comp. Cut through all the studio polishing that goes on and get some proper energy of what a band sounds like standing 2ft in front of them. I love the overloaded crunch of a live practice room recording.
but maybe that's just me

Re: Compilation CD
we covered 'shit shaped' by TDOHM.
We can do all your witches and bitches, but seeing as there are no vocals it's only half the band

Re: Compilation CD
now that would be worth watching. Linus could do all the russian shouting in the background if he was feeling left out.
Although to be honest i'd rather listen to you doing your own stuff cos it kicks ass!

Re: Compilation CD
why don't we all chip in and put out a vinyl with one or two tracks from each band? it'd probly work out as about £100 a band if we had 6 bands.
i'm thinking Zonderhoof, TDOHM, Atomck, Black Cesar, Us and maybe Ghast? artwork by bvrserk, liner notes by Noel?
something to think about.
word.

Re: Compilation CD
anyone had any more thoughts on this? can we get 6 bands to each put up £100? I'll stump up for Kitten, so that's 1.
Re: Compilation CD
